Trainer Types

Trainer Types

Trainer classes(types) are similar to classes from D&D. They provide a framework of main abilities that your character will possess. However you will also gain up to 4 of them over the course of your character's life so they do not absolutely define your character. Further differentiation will occur from your Skill and Edge selections as well.

There are different types of character classes to help group them together:

 • Introductory Classes – Provide the basis for many character builds. (The player's first PC MUST choose one of these for their first character's class.
 • Battling Style Classes – Provide a set of battle strategies
 • Specialist Team Classes – Specialize in a pokemon type, stat, or style and bring out the fullest potential of those pokemon in that area
 • Professional Classes – Allow you to help your allies outside of combat
 • Fighter Classes – Fight along side your pokemon in combat
 • Supernatural Classes – Wield superhuman powers (how these work will have to be discussed)
 • Elementalist Classes – Wield superhuman powers tied to a specific pokemon type (how these work will have to be discussed, from the Game of Throhs book)

Roles

Roles give a very basic view of what a class is about. Classes will have the same ranking of a role but each will realize that role in a different way.

 • Active Pokemon Support – Uses action to support and enhance thier pokemon and allies during combat
 • Passive Pokemon Support – Support and enhance thier pokemon and allies before/in between combat
 • Crafting – Creates items ot help themselves, theer pokemon, and their allies
 • Trainer Combat – Uses actions to fight in battle
